I have been trying to figure out where this wire goes and can't quite nail it down. It is coming out of the main harness where the starter harness branches out it is red with a white stripe about 4" with a small eye. There is a plug on the fire wall on the engine side can't remember if it was connected to that or not. Don't know what the plugs for either. Any help would be appreciated.

The plug looks like an inspection light plug. Not sure on the wire.

My grandfather bought it new, I don't know if it came that way or if he messed with it. It has been in that position since 73', I have never really paid much attention to it, what should be on the other side of the plug. Thank you for the I.D.

Thanks again I should have figured that. I have had the floor and walls sprayed with liner and wasn't sure what was there.

x2 plug facing the wrong way and wire on the wrong side of the firewall.

EDIT: I will say that my 71 the plug faced in... not sure about the 63. In a lot of early 60's cruisers the heater was right there. That plug very well could have faced the engine due to accessibility issues.
