So this issue has been beat to death in previous posts yet I have a few questions and need some advice.
My 12/76 FJ40 falls perfectly within the window of time with the smaller motor and wiper cover. However, my motor cover has obviously been banged up quite a bit so I grabbed one off the classifieds awhile back. Only now have I realized the one I got is bigger...
The smaller one doesn't look that bad because the body shop has already done some corrective work on it prior to the primer... but it's still pretty rough. Come to find out that's a typical "mod" for when a newer model, larger motor is installed.
Per ToyoDIY (and this thread) I should have 85120-90303, but instead it looks like I have 85120-90308 (or a variant).
So the questions are:
1. Can anyone corroborate that my motor is indeed the larger, later type? (thus explaining the state of my cover)
2. Which way do I align the larger wiper motor cover? I can only utilize the two of the original mounting holes. Do I use the ones on the driver or passenger side?
I'd also ask what the little hole is for, but that already has it's own thread.
