Help! My wipers recently cut out one day while driving. I have a 1980 FJ43. I have checked the fuses, no issues, cleaned the switch contact points, along with all contact points on the motor.

When the switch is engaged the motor is getting 1-2 volts. I searched all over for loose wiring too. Any advice is appreciated!

Could be many things...Verify that the windshield itself has a good ground. Temporarily just jumper a wire from the battery negative to the wiper motor housing. If it then runs make permanent jumper between the body and the windshield frame.

I thought 12 volts ran to the motor when key was on and the switch changed the ground from lo to hi??
