My '74 came with hood mounted windshield washer nozzle. Actually it was broken by PO as he lived in California and looks like never used it.
I'm going to mount a new windshield nozzle, but having a question:
- Should I go with 1 in the middle as it was originally or put 2 as all modern vehicle have?
Is there a benefit of having 2 instead of 1 on 40-series windshield? I assume it's yes, but still wondering what others opinion on that.
Would the washer motor hold double water consumption? I'm referring to water stream level (force and spray length).

If Im not mistaken, the one factory nozzle shoots out two streams, to the left and right, and considering thats factory, that is what I would go with. Of course, even if it only shot out 1 stream, I would go with that anyway, since thats factory, but Im kind of a purist.

Yes, it's shoot 2 streams.
I'm debating on 1x2=2 vs. 2x2=4...

It is your truck.

Do what you want.

I agree with poser do what you want, but my stock one nozzle two streams works great.
Ha ha two streams, does that mean my 40 had a good time last night!

Didn't a '74 come with two nozzles mounted at the the top of the windshield frame?

If not, when did the change occur?

No, it's a single hood mounted.

The early two piece hoods had two nozzles other wise the nozzle would have been in the seam. This started around the 68 model before that there wasn't any windshield washer system. Later had just one until 78 when it moved to the top of the windshield and the hood only had a dumby nozzle. If it finally went away on the hood before the end of the run I'm not sure.
