Windshield Weatherstripping Interchange? (1 Viewer)

I have a 73 Cruiser FJ40. Can I use the 75 and up style weatherstripping that comes minus the insert?

Or is there a reason you have to use the other insert and seal? I am not doing a restoration here just a replacement.

That's a good question. A friend of mine tried doing something similar - he was putting a 74 windshield into a 71 cruiser, and there was just enough difference where it wouldn't quite work. I think that with a 73 cruiser it might work with the weatherstripping... Best of luck to ya!
