Windshield washer woes (1 Viewer)

Is it just me, or does anyone else have windshield washers that shoot a solid stream that goes just past the windshield? Seems like most cars I see use a spray that covers the windshield better. Is there a way to fix this, or is there a good reason for it?

Same prob. Most of it hits the window and trickles down to the wiper path, so I haven't messed with it yet. They are adjustable though - pop the hood and loosen the screws holding them on the firewall and reposition or shim accordingly.
