Insurance replaced mine via Safelite last year. No mention of any availability issue.

Could you take a picture of the tinting or maybe describe it. I wonder if all new glass is the same tint, mine is a greenish tint.

It does have a slight tint but no more than side windows....I"ll post a pic but it might not show much

I bought from SloCruisers 1 1/2 years ago. Until you said something I didn’t even think about seeing if my chrome does fit back. I’ll have to look more closely at it.

That's a different tint than mine. So, different tinted windshields are available. I didn't question it when I ordered mine, but will in the future.

You should try contacting Gerber Collision & Glass in your area, that’s what I did and let them go through their glass suppliers. They got 2 no’s and one yes.
