Ok not really cruiser related, but I need to reattach ½ of my GPS Velcro patch to my windshield.

I’m a bit surprised that the sticky 2” patch came unglued in the whopping 70 degree heat with just the weight of the GPS unit attached.

Can someone suggest some sort of adhesive glue that is pretty much heat resistant and can handle the 3 ounce GPS receiver and be removed at a latter time w/o it being too difficult?

I’m thinking of some kind of silicon in a tube from home depot unless someone has a better idea.

What about rear view mirror adhesive? It's somewhat difficult to remove but can be done, and it should hold just fine, since that's what it's designed to do; hold a mirror to the windshield.

Will hold velcro fabric to the windshield, and will be easy to get off later. Pick one, because you can't have both. Windshield mirror glue won't work, because it's designed to hold a metal object (mirror button) to glass.

Easy to get off <> w/o it being too difficult!

I had to qualify it somehow or else people would susgest JB wield!

3M HD permanent double stick foam tape works well, I use it to hold a radar detector to the windshield. Needs to be replaced every couple of years, gets a little warm when parked in the sun here! Clean the glass before applying, alcohol works well.

Somehow I missed this sentence:

Yeah rear view mirror adhesive wouldn't work to well for velcro. I was thinking a a more permanent mount.

OK I ran out to Home Depot as soon as I read this and found 3M HD permanent double stick foam tape, but it was only about 1/4" wide.

Right next to this I found Red 3M SuperHD permanent double stick external foam tape that was about 1" wide for the same price.

I don't know how it's going to work out, but thanks for the leads everyone.

I have used silicone sealant, the one that you join glass together to make a fish tank, just hold in possition with adhesive tape while it sets, do it over night when its cooler, leave it 12 hours before removing tape, it can also be removed with a very thin sharp knife....
