Winch Question (1 Viewer)

Just picked up a fairly new Ramsey REP 8000 winch real cheap. Can reel in and out via the remote, however I can not disengage the clutch at all to free spool. This is a manual slide switch that won't budge. So before I go tearing into this thing, is there something I should be doing or checking for it to function properly? Checked Ramsey's website, wasn't much help.

try pulling on the lever when bumping the cable in and out. But its proly rusted stuck, the Warn 8274s do this if not used or maintened. for the warn you can buy a new lever/clutch and its pretty easy to replace......Ramsey I got no clue

Yeah, I actually did try that, wouldn't work though. Lots of dried clay on this thing when I unspooled it, so maybe that's a clue for a basic cleaning.
