Finaly mounted Warn M12000 on my ARB last night but I'm not real happy with the location of the control box. To make it fit, I loosened it and rotated it backwards. Can those of you who have relocated for found a good way to tuck it in, post up pics/ descriptions.

Thanks
John

I have mounted mine in my engine bay away from most of the crud usually associated with wheeling down here in OZ. I have extended all of the wiring and hard mounted my controller into the cabin. Works awesome.

whats the chance of you guys with it mounted next to the battery of posting some pics ????

download irfanview if you have a pc. it is shareware and it will resize your image. usually about 600x 400 will get you small enough

sent ya my e-mail. I'll post up the pictures

Mine is located on the USPS in between the two halves of the ARB roo bar. It is mounted upside down and bolted through the top portion of the ARB. It is hidden but still gets mud and water, etc.

I too am planning on relocating it into the engine compartment...but with a dual battery system, space is limited.

I was also thinking of bringing it all the way into the cab and mounting it on the backside of the center console....that way it is always available to use...and dry too...but that is a lot of #2 gauge wire ($$$$).

I want to relocate the controller box under the bonnet too but with dual batteries, shower, alarm and turbo I don't have much room left.
I also want to fit a York AC compressor for onboard air as well but I definitely don't think that will fit as well.

What is all this about a "Bonnet"? You Aussie/Brit types have some creative and cool words to describe the engine hood! I mounted my winch control relays in a box in the space in front of the battery and ran the heavy cables to the winch from there.
I have used the winch several times around the old home to move heavy stuff around with great results. I dragged a Toyo van sideways with ease using the winch. As I am moving my home the winch has paid for itself and its mounting several times over. I have not yet used it to help a fellow wheeler, but that will come up soon enough.
I put the motor and spool in the bumper and the controls under the hood (bonnet). It works well. For pics PM Kevin at toolsRus this site

that is an interesting ground set up. why are you grounded to the battery holder and where is the winch grounded?
