Hard to argue with this logic. However, if you've got a blown 4.7 and are handy with tools a 5.7 could be an interesting option.

Hold my beer.Wow, an over 17 year-old post brought to the top. I've been on and off forums since 2000 or so....and this is by far the oldest/most dead post I've seen resurrected. Ever.
And oh how life was different in November of 2008.....
I'm afraid to dig up posts I made on other forums back in the aughts, and get a window into what my teenage and twentysomething brain was thinking at that time. For context, at that time, there was no dedicated 100 series section. It was combined 80/100 section.
There were two section, "Cruisers" and then 80/100 section.... kinda misfits, I guess.![]()
Ain't that the truth.I'm afraid to dig up posts I made on other forums back in the aughts, and get a window into what my teenage and twentysomething brain was thinking at that time.
The Internet is forever.

I had a 1972 Chevy C-10 when I got my first taste of internet car forums in early 2001 as a high school kid. Oh how my tastes and lifestyles have changed over 24 years on the internet!I joined clubrx7.com in 2001.......I still have an active account on there. I was 21 in 2001 but I had 2 different C10's in highschool. Great trucks, wish I didnt get rid of them for RX-7's.......ended up owning about 8 of those lolI had a 1972 Chevy C-10 when I got my first taste of internet car forums in early 2001 as a high school kid. I do miss mine, as well as the square body trucks that my dad owned in the 1980s (I actually prefer those a bit more now to the 67-72s for some reason). My C-10 turned into a bit of a rust bucket - drip rail/sun visor area - so I ended up selling it to a friend in 2011 or so (and used the cash for high-end backpacking equipment). He sold it pre-COVID and I'm sure it's been crushed by now, although perhaps the 0.060" over, 10:1 compression 350 with double-hump heads I built is still running in some kind of other vehicle.I was 21 in 2001 but I had 2 different C10's in highschool.
