My 1979 FJ40 Brake Booster has died again. I'm tired of having it rebuilt. Does anyone know if an FJ62 Brake Booster will fit late model FJ40? Any problems or modifications needed?

proper adjustment of the push rod is all that is needed.....

Put FJ62 Power Brake Booster in my '79 FJ40 today. Only slight modifications were needed. Had to cut 1/2 inch of threads off of input shaft to be able to adjust length and clear brake pedal mounting pin. Had to mount the booster upside down as the big hole through firewall is in different position. Also needed the in-line vacuum check valve from the FJ62 (FJ40 check valve was mounted in booster).
Booster works great, easier to find, and a whole lot cheaper than a dual diaphragm booster used on late model FJ40.
