This is for my mini-truck project not the 80.

I'm wondering if FJ60 locking hubs will fit and replace the driveflanges on my FJ80 front end. The diff is welded in this axle, so being able to unlock the hubs would really be nice. My roommate also just so happens to have a set of FJ60 hubs sitting on the porch, so I'm hoping this will work out. BTW, the axle is from a '91-92 if that matters.

yes.

Just do search for Aisin hubs and you'll get all the details...

My thought was that you needed a spacer to make it work.

But, I don't know for sure.

Depends on the year..the later model 80 series birfs have longer splines and does need a spacer. I believe the earlier fit with no spacer.

Thanks, just searched and found what I needed to know. It seems they went to a longer spline section on the birfs mid-94. These birfs require slight modification of the aisin hubs and a .300 spacer OR no modification of the hubs and a .100 spacer. The truck in question has longfields, so I guess I will put these on and see if I need a spacer or not.

Thanks guys.
