Will a 76 carb work on an 82?

Question kind of says it all, will any mods need to be made? Any reason not to use the older carb? All of the emissions stuff is already off of the truck, it has a holley on there but am going back to aisin.
Thanks

Yep the carb will work on you later 2F. Here is the link to my conversion back to stock (also used a 76 carb) https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/531106-going-aisin-details-details-details.html
Pay attention to the vacuum setup, per Jim C the 75-76 carbs require manifold vacuum to the PV on the top, front of the carb. After running mine now for several months I have found that direct manifold vac is the way to set it up. I had mine coming off the gas filter on the top of the intake for a while but its best coming straight off the manifold. Best of luck

thanks... so no advantage disadvantage with the older carb?

Probably a couple of advantages...first being less emission related spaghetti to plug for your desmogged 2F, and IIRC the 75-76 carbs rate the highest CFM of the stock Aisin carbs. I am still a relative beginner in the carb arena so maybe those with more scar tissue (and grey matter) will weigh in.

If you ask around you will find that quite of few guys run the older Aisins with the mechanical secondary vs. the later vacuum secondary (say 72-74). These also work with a cable throttle, saving the need to source the hard linkage pedal and parts. The downside being I think you have to go with the early air cleaner assembly.

thanks man...I just waded through your thread...I sure hope my luck is better than yours
