Just wondering if someone can answer this question for me. I'm a newby, my friend has a chev bellhousing for a 3 speed, but I have a 80 hj45 with the 4 speed. Will it still mount up?

I don't believe so. 3spd bellhousing has a circle, 4spd bellhousing has a peanut shape.

X3... no go. You need the four speed bell to fit the four speed transfer case. Then there's all the linkages, driveshaft lengths, clutch and clutch fork ( maybe)... and spline count on the output shaft of the tranny going into whatever TC you have.

Transfer case mounts to the transmission...

Transmission mounts to bell/flywheel housing...

:meh:

Oops... That's what I meant. ( details.... sheesh....)

Thanks for your help folks, at least I'm not about to rip my box out nothing!
