All toyota factory locker housings are notched for the actuator fork. The cable lockers are the same housing, the only difference bein the actuating mechanism is cable vs. electric motor.

ummm, someone correct me if i am wrong but the CABLE locker housings where notched for the actuator but the elec housings are not...

at least that is what i came to beleive when i installed an elocker into a standard housing..

perhaps the differnce was in the 9.5 carrier verses the 8.0 carrier, because I do not remember seeing a notch on the smaller front carrier for the elockers. I will have to take a look, I have a few laying around...at some point when I get around to it, unless someone has a pic of a factory 8" carrier with elocker, with the carrier out :p

Cheers,

Michael

Here is one w/ 8". 9.5" is similar.

Both of the pictures are 8". One is a housing for use with elocker (notched), one is for use without elocker. LC 9.5 is not pictured, but would be notched in a similar way.

As for cruiser or lc 8.5???? Not sure what you mean. The diff you may be referring to is the taco 8.4(w/o locker)? Tacoma's WITH locker use 8", same housing bolt pattern as 8" reverse front with elocker. Large landcruiser (9.5) is completely different than 8". Tacoma non-locker 8.4" is completely different than 8".

Is that a Cruiser 8.5, it is a little hard to tell with such a small pictures but it looks like a taco 8.5 housing not a cruiser one

???

Thanks,

Michael

Here is a picture of a high pinion Cruiser front axle and a 9.5 rear LC FF. Note how the LC houseing for the high pinon looks much different than the one you pictured. That is why I wonder what it was from, Not a LC axle housing.

The pictures are 8" diff. I posted them to show what the differences are between E-locker and non e-locker housing. The difference is the gasket surface is notched out to allow for the actuator fork. The same goes for cruiser diff. Obviously the housing looks different and is diffferent, but the notch is still there.
