OK everyone. Let's ride together! Becky and I will be in Christopher Creek that weekend so we're inviting ya-all for a trek down one of our favorite roads. Along that road (The Rim road, FH300) we'll take numerous side treks to really secluded and scret camp and scenic spots for you to remember (or camp Saturday night at). A few will offer some 4-wheeling. This will not be just drive down FH300 and that's it. All will offer great scenery as most are on the wetter, West side of the Rim. Some camp spots are at the Rims edge and are simply amazing. Come on out and join us. For campers.....fire restrictions have been lifted (like our Cruisers) so it'll be fun to the max for you. :) Heck, camp near the end of the run (many spots) and join us at the Creekside for dinner (our favorite restaurant in AZ). Maybe even pool, shuffleboard, and live music/dancing after dinner?

    DATE: Saturday, August 6th
MEETING PLACE: Payson Circle K (not the first one on the right as you come into town, but the second one on the left side of Hwy 87, just AFTER the AZ260 turnoff. Go straight at that junction...heading toward Pine, Strawberry, Winslow, etc.
    MEETING TIME: 9:45 with a 10:00 AM pull-out
    TRIP LENGTH: 5-hours
DIFFCULTY: 2-2.5 (with some 3.0 options)
    BRUSH: None (or very little)
MUD: Hope so from monsoons :D
    MY CELL PHONE: 520-975-1723

More details to follow. Questions at: jshotts@earthlink.net
    SEE YA!

For those who might be interested in staying in Christopher Creek Saturday night and having dinner, and/or pool, shufflboard, , whatever. Check this link:

We're staying at the actual Creekside Cabins at the restaurant for $80 Saturday night. After dinner it's a 2 minute walk to pool tables and live music.

    John,

Terri and I were just up there last weekend. We camped at Bear Canyon Lake - and got rained on almost the entire weekend. Be careful around the construction on 260, east of Payson - and obey the 25mph speed limit. I didn't and was pulled over. I really need to fix my speedometer after putting on the 35's. At least I only got a warning - I guess the officer liked my cruiser.

It sounds like fun, but our summer is pretty much booked until the school starts.

    Have a good time,

    Tim Rusert

We made it back to Chandler without having to refill the tire's air.. We couldn't find a discount tire in payson and by the time we choose big-O tire they were closed, so we went home..It's hot down here..

Nice meeting everyone & thanks for all the help!!

I've been running those for a year now. I like them so far. Good road manners and they do well in the desert.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it John, to many house projects right now. Maybe in Sept.
