Post-HG my truck runs great. I will go as far as saying the behavior at idle, cold start-up, and under acceleration is very comparable to a new car. The truck didn't run bad before but it did run like a used truck. My EGR code 71 has not returned (knock on wood). It has not ran this well in the 3 years I've owned it.

If you saw the pic thread of my old HG you realize it was in very good shape so I doubt it had anything to do with it. While I had it at the dealer for HG replacement I also opted for a $139 fuel injector/air induction cleaning. Should I blame the cleaning for the improvements? If so, I really should have taken better notice of the MUD advice to clean my throttle body etc.

You nailed it..

could also be from removal of carbon form the cylinder area, these do tend to get some build up after 100+K.

Hey, you gotta do something to make yourself feel better about replacing a perfectly good HG. ;)

I belive you mean Placenta Domingo...........;p

Your truck simply appreciates the time and effort you expended on it's behalf.
So now it runs better to thank you. Common LandCruiser reaction...

I'm really hoping this was referenced to "Placido Domingo"

I believe "Placenta Domingo" may be translated to "Bloody Sunday".

Long block ? !

Once he's got about 10% of the 80 'Mudders doing PM headgaskets each year, Dan will start on the PM long block mantra. Anything to feed those dogs.
