Are ppl doing it for less unsprung weight ??

Is there really an advantage in doing it for this reason in a landcruiser ??

Or does it aid suspension travel ?

I've looked and asked but haven't been able to find out.

do you mean mounting shocks "upside down"? i did it on my 40, a) to protect the valve for the 9000's, b) because i was taught that the moving part of the shock should be attached to the moving part of the vehicle (shaft to axle), and c) to keep the tube from being damaged.

No advantage or disadvantage... mount them where they fit. However, some shocks are not made to be mounted "upside down" as in the body up.

nuclear, have you had any problems running the 9000's upside down on the 40. i was getting ready to notch the shock towers to clear the reservoir because I was under the impression the 9000's weren't to be run upside down. However, if would be a lot easier to filp them.

thanks,

David

haven't had any issues yet. met a guy that helped design them as gsmtr about six years ago and he said they'd be fine.
