The cruiser lean

Hi-all this is my first post on your great forum. In Africa it is called the cruiser lean, not the shocks,This is caused by placing the wrong leaf on the wrong side,a other story I heard is that the factory notmally tension the driver side a bit more to take the weight of the driver as well as the diesel-If true I dont know,Just installed OME leafs and shocks and with the spare wheel carrier on the passenger side the vechile is still level. to a great forum.

again, myself and others have swapped them from side to side with the same results...

UPDATE: The mob I got the springs from said, as far as they were concerned, both sides are identical, so got them and changed the rear springs on weekend (frontones next weekend). They said I should achieve about a 2" lift, You're were right Rosco, the RH spring was significantly lower to the ground when I pulled them off and put them side by side, so it was stuffed. The new ones I got however were the same height as the LH, so not sure whether these springs had been changed recently.

Anyway before starting, I measured the guard to ground clearance for both sides and then again after puttin the new ones on:

BEFORE:
RH side height to guard - 885mm
LH sude height to guard - 930mm

AFTER
RH side height to guard - 915mm
LH sude height to guard - 940mm

So there's still a sligh lean, but much better. Can I assume now, that the little bit of lean is due to the spare being on th RH side?

Take the tyre off and see how much difference you get, then measure it with you in the drivers seat and the tyre on.
I doubt a tyre will make much difference on its own.

I think mine were with 5-10mm all round with tyre on without me.

Were the new springs the same height off the vehicle when compared to L and R?

Yep the springs were exactly the same height as the old LH one, but higher than the RH. Yeah with these springs being so stiff, I wouldn't have thought havin the tyre on would make really any difference at all, but yeh good idea Rosco, I'll take the tyre off and check again... alsobetter check tyre pressures too I guess.

Thanks for all those pointers for changin the springs too Rosco.
