WHOA! Just pulled my idle mixture screw out and it’s kinda curvy! (1 Viewer)

Hey guys and gals. My 40 was running weird at idle and backfiring and crackling when I get off the throttle. So a local mechanic said to try pulling ou the idle mixture screw and spraying some carb cleaner and flowing some air through the hole. I just pulled it out and it’s kinda curvy not totally straight, is that normal?

That happens when someone uses too much force when turning it all in. So it bottoms out a bends. Common but not good.

Is that off 74 and earlier carb? I think the later 2F carbs use a longer screw.

Ok so my friend says he’ll give me one. He has one of each. Anyone know for sure if mine needs the long or short one for sure?
