Who made this (factory style) soft top?

poly will melt.... cotton will burn

I do not think that is a Travis top now that I see the stitching... the maker ran with the tension too loose. He was a bit of a perfectionist as was Jim Reed. But you never know.... do all the stiches look like that? It could very well been a home made top not too hard to do really:

Maybe I should trim that loose fiber and (away from the top) check with a lighter if it melts or burns.
Not all the stitching is that loose, but most is looser than I would think is ideal. I'd be impressed if this is a homemade top, it fits well and has some well thought out features. It really just seems that the material is not the best and the "roof" portion is a little loose

There are a few small spots like the one pictured that need some repair, what is the best way to do that?

This is a picture form one of the links in the canvas maintenance thread I have used this method on cotton canvas as well as poly and sunbrella
