Before setting my pool table up, I thought of a cool way to trick it out some. Lights inside of the legs. Should be easier than my crankshaft idea. I want to put a led lighting source inside each leg, but be able to not have all the wiring to the table. I am thinking a battery operated lighting source with a switch I can put under the table. Obvisously not a good idea to just put the battery in the leg (PIA to change that when needed). Here is a general idea of what I am thinking. The left leg is the way it came, the right is the "gold" mirror look gone with paper for difusion and a light inside for getting an idea. Whatcha think?

I'm glad I don't work at the Biopark. Working with Jon today might be a challenge, well, more than usual.

FWIR they are less costly in the store

Lotsa options here. Solar panels to a few 12v DC batteries wired in parallel tucked up under the table. Small Honda generator outside to keep the batteries charged during those all night pool sessions.

Get some tri-color LEDs that cycle through the spectrum or just stay with mundane white; your choice.

I think chicks dig blinged-out pool tables. I could be wrong. Let me know if it works for you 'cause I have a big living room that is begging to be turned into a man cave.

Oh, I used the Cruiser to bring it home. :flipoff2: Actually, I plan to take off the lift and MTRs, lower it to the ground and slap some Daytons on it. The lighting question is because I want to put some lighting under it when I am done, like they did in the bario back in the day. Vive el bario! :flipoff2::grinpimp::flipoff2:

Phil, I plan on using something like that. The problem is to not to have the batteries in the leg. I don't think changing batteries in the leg would be that easy with a 600 or so table on top. I need to rewire all the lights to a power source can be tucked under the table where it can be more easily accesable. Then to a on/off switch.

Gees, what to say? I think it would be more convienent to keep the generator under the table. Why would I want to go outside in the middle of the night to start it?

I am a mundane guy, so would want to keep it simple. Now if you said put a disco ball in there, I would be all over that. We can use multi-colored lights for the light over the pool table.

I didn't know that chicks dig blinged out tables. I could take out the pockets and put some chrome ones in there. Forget the common mother of pearl inlays, I am going to melt some gold, and have those for inlays. Why just settle for bling when you can have Bling Bling!:grinpimp: But I will toss the ideas around and see if the girls like it. We can do that at your house for one kick but man-cave. I have some more ideas if you want.

Before the table goes in can you run wires under the carpet? small 12 volt inverter switched at bar.

I have to put a bar in too? Holy crap!

They don't do that in the bario anymore? I guess it has been 17 years since I left it. Now I only go back a few times a year to visit my father (and to see that my FJ40 is still the same heap of parts in the same place I left it), and that's only during daylight hours

Marc, did you notice where I said "back in the day"? That does not mean these days, but days back in the past. No wonder I did not get along with some of the the engineering students "back in the day" when I was taking ME classes. Where did/does your dad live? I want to bring those times back. Why not start it with a Cruiser. That would be trick? Why use an Impala or Monte Carlo? This is new schit? Just old school way. way? Do you need an escort for night hours? I got some homies that can take you there. Just don't keep too much cash on you alright vato. Don't be to cheap either!

My dad is in Los Pas territory, near Raymac and Isleta. Since the 40 is sprung under, we could put some 6" lowering block on it and have it drag on speed humps.

I see all kinds of LED strips in the home improvement stores. Could one of them work for this app? As said already, run some flat extension cable under the carpet? I saw super flat speaker wires that could work here? Just throwing out some ideas.

Will there be a ceiling mirror above the pool table? Bow chicka wow wow.....

Marc, about the same area I grew up in. I went to Polk Middle School, and Church of Ascension for many years (just the usual 3 years at Polk). I don't have any idea why you would be weary to go down there after daylight hours. Now about draging the 40 over speed humps "back in the day", those were not there.

Yeah I know. I will have to alter them to fit what I want. The only problem is that I can not find anything secific for the application without spending hundreds of $. Going under the carpet is an idea, but what can I run is another decision. I like the idea to run a battery pack for the lighting (like a laptop) that I can plug in when a charge is needed.

As far of the mirror ceiliing, talk to Mikey. He wants the Bling at his house.

Remember, I am a dumb landscape guy. I have no idea how all this electrical stuff works, and on top of that, make it sound easy. BTW, is your rock wall still holding up?

Hey Rudical,
You actually did a great job on your pool table legs dude. You need to post up instructions for everyone else on how you pulled it all off.:beer:.......from an old :wrench:.
