most of the mechanics at TIRE are or have general knowledge about vehicles unless there is a specialist there and if you are allowed to be in the shop you may have to babysit them. find a shop that can guarranty the work
and that has a reassonable shop rate. a shop that is on the REYNOLDS/REYNOLDS SYSTEM is the way to go. i fiNDthat with our JDMS MOST SHOPS GET NERVOUS on that system it goes by a chart how long a job takes say for instance 2 hours for a waterpump re and re if it takes3.5 you pay for 2 hours. i had an axle job a while back the book said 2 hours it took them
about 5 plus there was a mishap i paid for 2 and that was a repudable shop

John is back and working on cruisers again, he is the man in your neck of the woods who really knows his stuff.

I highly second Ryans choice.

Yes, I'm back at it after a break from trying teaching again. I have installed a second lift, bought Snap On diagnostics and lab scope (not that it really helps with old Cruisers), and I'm throwing more money and equipment into the shop all the time.

The only problem is going to be the wait... there's a big line up of all kinds of stuff waiting for repairs or mods. I am no longer focussing on Land Cruisers or 4wds; I am doing general repairs on all makes and models. I am a JDM friendly repair shop and I am taking the time to find the needed parts and do things right and I have a fair bit of old Land Cruiser stuff still lying about.
