I am wanting to change out my suspension bushings since they are 20 plus years old. Does anybody have an opinion on what bushing is best for your buck?
I have been debating between whiteline and superpro. Any suggestions?

Both of them offer the same thing, white line is just urethane dyed black instead of red or blue, just use rubber if you can get it.

x2 on rubber if you can find it. IMHO, there's a good reason all OEM bushes are rubber.

I would steer clear of urethane bushings. They would need to be super low durometer to allow the same flex and ride quality as the rubber stockers. Urethane is great for race cars, not so much for off road trucks.

I got a great deal on some Whiteline bushings and have just done the rear so far. I've been really happy with the ride. Immediate improvement over the worn-out OEM rubber bushings. Would new OEM rubber have been better? Maybe, maybe not. I've noticed most of the people I've talked to about how they hate urethane bushings haven't used them. The ride is firm, but not harsh, and I've had no noise issues, like the early cheap urethane bushings were prone to.

So what is the ride quality like betwwen urathane and rubber? Im looking for a soft quite ride. Also want somethimg that is gonna last.

Your OE bushings lasted for 20 years and provided a soft, quiet ride. Seems like a pretty easy decision.

Well....from what I have heard I am thinking of staying with OEM bushings. I thought after market urathane would be the way to go but I guess Mr T got it right the first time. I'm gonna change my lower rear control arm bushings first. Any suggestions what should be next?

Since the fronts will contribute more to the feeling you get during driving, I'd do those 6 first. then the 8 in the rear. I wouldn't worry much about the panhards and do them last.

If ordering from a dealer, when you get to the front, make sure to ask for the installation instruction that accompanies them. The voids in the bushings at the front axle are not in phase with each other. They are 90degrees apart.
Also, the bolts/washers/nuts are not considered reusable because the clamping load from torquing them is inconsistent during re-use. If you can afford new bolts and re-use the old ones, increase your torque by 5-10%(SWAG) and check them periodically(according to the instruction in the maintenance schedule).

In regards to the PU bushings, they contribute to a sloppy feel and a harsh ride. The PU is a much higher durometer; it has a higher spring rate. So any input loads to the vehicle from the wheels creates more of an impulse/shock(contribuiting to harsh ride) instead of it being cushioned. Furthermore, most PU bushings are not bonded to the press-in sleeve AND the center pin. This means there is no torsional contribution which contributes to the sloppy feel.

There are bonded rubber replacement bushings available from Rockauto, but i don't think anyone has tried them just because it is a pain to switch over to OE bushings
