Whining Noise after Distributor Cap/Rotor (1 Viewer)

whining noise showed up after swapping distro cap/rotor/plug wires. can’t pinpoint where it’s coming from but can hear noise through stethoscope on distributor, alternator and some parts of block. tough to pinpoint.

any help appreciated

Pop the old rotor back in there and see if it goes away. Is it fully seated? Maybe some unwanted contact going on?

I concur with @surfpig .... swap the old one back in and see if that was the issue.

the old rotor had unbelievable levels of corrosion on it so i chucked it as soon as i pulled it.

new cap and rotor are oem if that helps. planning on pulling it apart tonight to see if maybe it didn’t seat all the way in and maybe will try swapping in an aftermarket rotor to see if that helps.

Check to see if it's seated in all the way and also check the inside of the cap to look for any marks
