Which Tranny is in the 5 speed prados

Which Tranny is in the 5 speed prados is it the same as the hilux/surf and Toyota trucks available in north america

I think it is the r151

so would a 4 Runner or mini truck tranny work? Tired of the automatic need to get rid of my over boost fuel cut as well and I think a tranny swap would be half the battle

go buy a 22R and manual tranny and swap the whole thing in...

Yep, it's the R151F. Although apparently the early model non turbo Prado/Bundera had a different box that wasn't as strong.

4 Runner transmissions of the right age are also R151's but they have a different transfer case to the Prado, so check on output shaft/flange compatibility.
