Hi Everyone,

Doing a tune up and should I go with Toyota or Bosch Platium plugs?

TIA,

Yota! OEM for me.....

Mark

I have personally had problems with bosch plugs in a couple different Toyotas including my FJ40.
I only put Toyota OEM in now. They are a U groove plug anyway, and seem to last a looong time.

Just pulled the Champion plugs out of a non-running 77 FJ40 and replaced with OEM, ran better immediately, then much better after performing the magic hand slap on the carb. Maybe just me, but?????

I have noticed that the build of the OEM is different than aftermarket. This affects heat range, etc. Maybe thats it.

I just feel the OEM *works*.... and ya know what they say about things that work! :D

PS: NGK are an OEM crossover (even in the manual) if you're not at a Toyota dealer.

OEM or NGK... period

Nippondenso spark plugs do perform best in Toyota vehicles.

I also run them In my 440 Magnum 1970 Challenger and in my 4.3 GM powered boat.........

Ya just can't beat 'em.....

I've used bosch platinums with no problem. They need to be replaced more often (60k vs 90k) but at 1/8 the cost of iridiums it is worth the extra hassle to me.
