Hey just wanted to ask around and see which one would get the worst gas mileage...

The contenders..

2004 Dodge Ram HEMI 5.7L 2WD - 39k miles
1992 3FE FJ80 - 266k miles..

I am just curious because its either drive one or the other to work and I have a 35 mile commute.. And at $2.39 a gallon it can put a nice dent in anyones wallet.. !!!

At work we have an '05 3/4 ton 4x4 Dodge Hemi. I checked the mileage after about 200 miles of in town surface street driving and it was 11.8 mpg. HTH.

c'mon! you just want everyone to know that you have two sweet rides, don't you? admit it! :D :flipoff2: :D

I thought the Toy .. the other one was designet to carry weight and have a lots of power so you don't need to pull hard ( the engine ) to move fast ..

A-HA!! I knew it!!!

I think the gas milage is probably pretty close but the additional milage might cause the newer vehicle to depriciate faster by adding mileage. I'd drive the toyota to work unless the hemi is in a truck you might need on the job. Just some food for thought.

I'd drive the one without the permanently locked center diff. :flipoff2:

:flipoff2: Thanks for rubbing it in.. I would rather drive my 80 but its kind off embarrasing when your parking at the grocery store and all of a sudden your trucks make some loud noises and everyong in the parking lot looks at you.. :eek: :eek: :eek:

Ah ha. Is your center diff really always locked?? that sucks if it is. But that post is funny. I get 10-11/city and 13-14/highway.

why are you asking us? just try them out and do the calcs... :)

My 80 ='ed 9.66 mpg on time.

Hemi = don't know

But I layed into my dad's '04 3500 Cummins Turbo and the worst I got was 14/mpg.:flipoff2:
