My 1976 FJ40 has a Weber and I’m looking to install a troll hole carb that I acquired a while back. Which of these air cleaners is correct? The one on the left defaults to pulling air off the exhaust manifold while the one on the right defaults to cold air intake. Additionally there is a vacuum schematic sticker on the left one. Is the left unit special for California with more smog? I am not in California and have no need for smog equipment.

Post an up close pic of the sticker. I can double check my 77 California air cleaner tomorrow.

I think that's a federal sticker. California spec distributors had both vacuum advance and retard so 2 vacuum lines. Your sticker shows only 1.

If the part number on the cover is 17700-61020 it is for a 1/75-9/77. Doesn't look like it is 17700-61030 which would be 1/75-2/76 with hot air intake.

Other sticker on the left unit says 17700-61020. I’ll start cleaning that one up. Thanks guys.

My 8/77 California spec stickers... Wish I could find a repop for the vacuum lines sticker.
