Champion (http://www.championwheel.com) and Stockton (http://www.stocktonwheel.com) are converted beadlocked wheels, for additional ~$125 per wheel, so I'll hold off on these.

Walker Evans Racing (bling bling!) are really nicely made and designed, and are about $300 per wheel, and are famous:

Rocklox is almost as pretty as the Walker Evans Racing, but is SAE and DOT approved. Also a "bling bling", it costs ~$400 and will be released late December 2003:

Hi-Impact Beadlocks are as famous as Walker Evans, but less expensive, and a bit heavier, but more design choices:

I have no idea about Trailready Bead Locks, but is here for my completeness:

Whatcha think? I'm looking for a 17"x10" for BFG Krawlers.

I voted for the walker evan bling bling. I really like the fact that the backing ring isn't welded on and is cast as part of the rim. Second would be TRs because of the large outter alum ring that take a lot of abuse.

see, I answered on that "other" forum before I saw this post...hehehe

Allieds....big fan, real impressed with mine. MIO, most of the new offerings are quality products, and it's more a matter of what your pocket book can bear.

One issue with the WIDE rings is capturing more junk inside...I collect plenty with the "little" ring on the Allieds...can't imagine the crap that gets stored in a TR!!

the only problem with allum.. beadlocks. is they bend and crack and leak. my freind has allied and he hates them. all of them are cracked after 1 season of competition. and they ALL leak now. hes going to MRT beadlocks now.. cause steel u can bend back im also running mrts and have had great success with them.

I have had MRT and trailready.

I liked my steel TR's so much, I just got a set of Aluminum ones :D

The are a BITCH to mount, but very true and air tight once you get them all mounted up.

What size tire are you wanting to run?

WE's are 17" only....

Thanks for the replies gentlemen! I'm trawling for as much info as I can, as these things are expensive... I oughta buy you guys a beer (Guinness/Fat Tire/Kilkenny, anyone?) if you're here in the Bay Area for what I think I'll save when I make the right decision. Anyway, I currently have 5 of these 37"x"12.5"17" (compared with 33" BFG All-Terrain):

I love the secondairs, but I dont think they do a 17" yet.....

Beat the tyrelocs hands down.... and cheaper.

ahh crap.. I messed up. i mean my freind has trail ready beadlocks. .with the big rings. 17 inch with 37 krawlers. thats the ones hes hating. not allied.

With those wide rings couldn't you just duct tape over the hole and keep everything out? (Until a branch poked through, but even then, just a 5 sec fix).
Is there any flaw to my thinking? ???

ys, mud, runs in there from around ring or back of rim, drys, sticks badly out of balance wheels for trip h-o-h-o-h-o-h-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-m-e-m-e-m-e-m-e-m-e-e-e-e-e-e-e.......

Yes, cause you would also have to ducttape the inside holds of the rim (spokes). Also, IMO, getting all the sticky residue off the rim would be a PITA....and you can't get in their to lock/unlock your hubs with the tape on, so you'd spend a lot of time retaping/cleaning.

Dirt Track racers use foam inserts to fill the openings and keep the rocks/junk out, but that would work well for wheelers as it would absorb water.

A buddy did the Rockstomper DIY locks and likes them. Affordable, but personally I much prefer my Allieds over those.

I guess I'd have Rockstomper convert this 26 inchers to beadlock so I can stuff Michelin XMLs in there, right? :flipoff2:

Secondair now do a 17" as well as 16" and 15" in 7" 8" 10" and 12" wide.

Locks both beads for under $200 Aus and just drill a hole in the rim for the valve, and fit.

MAkes the car drive much nicer with lowerr pressures as well as being legal.

Own Trail Ready.

Was a cluster getting the correct four sets from them when I orderd, but finally was made right. Not too worried about that big mud catcher lock ring, mud cleans out and off. I have beat them, and they seem to be working fine.

How about the new aluminum bling, bling Hutchison double beadlocks that were featured in the latest Peterson's? They're fricken expensive, but they are DOT legal.

DOT.....
