My AC fan in my 62 went out slowly on my way to work today. Could be a number of things but since it died slowly I'm thinking the fan just died so I'll try a replacement.

Where is this thing? Under the hood, under the dash, behind the dash?

Look underneath the dash on the passenger side. Basically look up from where the passenger's feet would be and it isn't hard to access.

Thanks! That's the answer I wanted to hear. Other threads recommend cleaning out the old one so I'll start there.

You're not cleaning the old fan, but rather the ductwork it draws air through. Remove the fan assembly (3 screws and a wiring plug, easy-peasy) and get busy with a shop-vac. You'll be shocked at how much crap is in there.
