Does anyone have any good input on the SOR headliner, or has everyone been buying/using something else all together. I would like to put something relatively thick back in, unlike the oem foam fuzz. I'm not looking resto, just something that looks like it would belong there.

My favorite is white herculiner. You can kind of see it in Dave's rig here:

If your rig is fairly stock and there is any chance you might sell it someday, I would go with a product that looks stock (SOR, CCOT, and Cruiser Corps all seem to be similar). Two things that people looking at used cars always seem to mention is the upholstery and the condition of the headliner. $.02 :)

I'm thinking of going with the liner from SOR, for one to kind of absorb sound, and to keep a somewhat stock look to it. My upholstery is all fairly new, very clean, so I would like to install something that would look good, and not start falling in five years. as far as the hurculiner goes I havent ruled something like that out yet, but I'm wanting something more stock looking and to knock a little sound down.

Do any of you have any experience with the SOR, or CCOT liners? Pros, cons?

To save some money, go to a local auto-upholstery supplier and buy a few square yards of an easily available headliner.

You can pick one that has a thicker foam. You will have to cut it to fit though.

I put a layer of the foil covered bubble rap under my old headliner. It helped to insulate it. It did bulk up at the corners, behind the dome light and where the liner goes under the lip at the front.

My $or headliner failed after 2 years. It wasn't my glue, but the product actually delaminated. Hugely disappointed it didn't last longer. Next time I will make my own.

Hammer, that's good info on the SOR liner, looks like I'm going to keep digging for more info on this one. As far as the hurculiner goes can anyone tell me if it makes the cab any louder inside? And is it a smooth texture?

I don't have mine together yet but I am told that the Linex offers excellent sound deadening properties. There is some texture to the Linex....sort of like a heavy frost on light sheet of ice on a windshield. onviously, you will get a better finsih if it is done with the top off and by a professional.

Probably the best part about it is that if you ever want to put a headliner in....you can do it right over the Linex.

Yeah I'm kind of liking the idea of still being able to install a head liner if I choose to use a hurculiner type of finish. Durability may also be a factor to send me over to that side. About how much did it take/cost to do the top?

Yup!:bounce: There is a ton of options for headliners out there. I use a carpet material that is normally put into motor home ceilings.

I have been very happy with (more than one) SOR headliner, and my CCoT headliner seemed resistant to all spray adhesives (3M, 3M pro-grade, etc.) and I finally troweled on water based liquid nails, and that worked. I would not buy another CCoT headliner for this reason. After you remove the roof for the 3rd time, it gets REAL old.

It was around $200, I left bit with them and told them to wait until they had a "white" job come in and then spray it at the same time.

Generally with Linex, there is an extra charge to do white or color (with a minimum of a certain amount of coating)....if you don't mind waiting, most places won't hit you with that charge if they are doing another job in the same color.

Seems as if I'm going to spend over a hundred I may as well go with the SOR liner, I thought that the hurculiner might have been less.

Hhhmmmm. I may have to seek out an upholstery shop and check out what they have.

I bought the cruiser corp headliner. If I remember correctly it was around $100

I was just posting about the cruiser corp liner, what kinda quality is behind it? Does it seem to be pretty durable? I bought an engine gasket set from them I wasn't pleased with so I'm questioning the quality of the rest of their stuff.

The bucket seat covers I bought from them were outstanding. JD
