Hey guys,

I was curious where all of you folks with LX470s have their trucks serviced/repaired in the Dallas area. Since I have owned my truck I have had one service done at Park Place but it was pretty pricey, and was curious if there might be an alternative.

Thanks!

Park Place may be pricey but at least it is a good dealer, much better service than Sewell. I can't give you any recs in Dallas but I know of 2 good indy shops in Fort Worth if you are interested.

I've been to Park Place, they have had quality service for as long as I can remember. Not all service needs to be done at the dealership however some specific things may or not be best left to the dealer, depending on your local independent mechanic. I think of most dealerships = warranty work.

Dont use Toy of Richardson,I did major mistake! Toy of Dallas but get everything up front in writting. I still do most work myself after dealing with most in the Dalls area. MIke

I have had warranty work done at Park Place and they did well. I had a repair done by Toyota of Richardson this year and they did great. I had some work done at Sewell and I was not as pleased as at Park Place. The best place of all is in Little Rock at Parker Lexus (#1 in the nation).

I would go out of my way for Baertrax.

Two reasons:

1. Professionalism
2. Knows the Land Cruiser brand.

Disclaimer: He is replacing my stock suspension with OME springs, shocks, and torsion bars as we speak.

Has anybody tried Cruiser Shop? It's close to TI. I need my steering rack replaced and rather than spending a weekend frustrated I am thinking about letting somebody else enjoy the experience.

Just saw Josh of Baertrax while having dinner. He would be top of my list.

If you mean Buddy at Cruiser Shop, he's certainly been around for a long time, but I've not used him.

I get all my parts at Toyota of Dallas but don't know the techs there. Jacques in the parts group would point you the right direction on that though.

I use Prat in Fort Worth quite a bit. Most, if not all of their techs are former Lexus dealer techs. Prices are good and they are up front about repairs.

For oil changes, tire rotations and routine maintenance, I take mine to Dallas Brake and Alignment.

They will do almost any type of repairs, but if you want oem parts, you should order them ahead of time. If not, then you will get napa parts or you will be waiting for a couple of days until they can get the parts from Toyota.

The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but they are very knowledgable, honest and do good work. I've never had to take anything back to them. Best of all, they are close to my work. Ask for Randy or Cid. I even take my wife's LS430 there for oil changes, tires, etc.

I've had it with high prices and so-so work done at dealerships, upselling me for crap I don't need.

I agree. He has my FJ40 at the moment and has been great to work with.
