Attracted to this thread to see why someone would want to go all retro and rebuild a water pump.

Early pump? If so you probably need this: waterpump repair kit?

The new Omix/ADA kits are typical low end aftermarket quality, you're better off finding genuine government surplus or NOS aftermarket.
