Where to get good new bumperettes?

I got a set from CCOT, they are nice. No complaints here. And they match my front shackle HFS bumper I bought from them too...

I think if you have OEM silver front bumper, you may want Dans items, if not, maybe the CCOT items are just as good for the price?

**EDITED**

My 40 came with chrome OEM bumperettes that were beginning to rust. The cost of sand blasting and either re-chroming or powder coating was more than buying new bumperettes from CCOT. IIRC they were around $60 on sale. FWIW, they're fabbed of slightly thicker steel than OEM.

This might be one case where bigger is not better. That is if the purpose of the bumperetts is to collapse and absorb rear collisions? ;)

You may very well be correct. I wasn't claiming that one bumperette was superior to the other, just pointing out that CCOT's version was a bit heavier and cheaper than OEM.

Bumperette - FJ40

In the product description, Cool Cruisers mentions 3/16" steel plate construction and "collapse resistant straight side walls" so I guess they think that's an advantage over the stock design? I dunno. :hhmm:
