Where Shall We Eat?

Well...it took considerably longer than anticipated to complete the deal with our new 80. We hit the edge of town at about 2:30 A.M., so we stopped at Del Taco on our way to the hotel. We wanted to drop by the meeting, but figured that even the hardiest partiers had gone home to bed by that time.

We did get to sample the green chile sauce at the La Posada Hotel in Winslow. It was wonderful stuff on the tamales.

We enjoyed the scenery along the drive, and plan to make it out your way again when we have time to drive off the beaten path.

I'm bushed-it's bedtime for me.

Glad to hear you had a safe journey. Thanks for being the catalyst for a thread on the great places to eat in Albuquerque. Does anyone in the club think this would be a useful sticky for visitors to our club section or our part of the world? Maybe we should expand the topic to 'Where to eat' and 'What to do' for future visitors to ABQ/NM to check out.

Forgot to mention the after-wrenching pub. O'neil's on Washington and Central. Good imports and great food.

This is a little late, but you guys should check out Richard's on Menaul. Good NM food, not pricey. Only open for breakfast and lunch. Right across the street from where Garcia's Toyota was 25 years ago. East of Vassar across the diversion channel. I agree that green is the way to go, but they got eggs and carne adovada that really hits the spot for breackfast.

I think Blue Corn is now Chama River. I'll ditto them. I've actually been there sort of recently . I should have thought of that.

Chama Brewing is great! Get a Sleeping Dog Stout and the pork cutlet w/ apple dressing (my personal favorites). Sleeping Dog Stout might be the best stout I have ever had.

Another great Micro brew is Turtle Mountain on Southern in Rio Rancho. The best calzones I've ever had and really strong and tasty

Also Il Vicino in Knob Hill or on Montgomery. Another good micro brew that has great thin crust wood oven pizza.

Since I'm in the market for a place for dinner, I remembered this decade old thread. I'm willing to bet there are folks that forget it existed, and new folks that hadn't check the stickies to see it was there. So, to the top we go. Too bad some of these places are no longer around.

And since Sadie's came up several times, there is also one on Academy off San Mateo. Enjoy.
