I have a FJ60, and I can't find where the connector is for the oxygen sensor is, so I may test it. I realize that (I guess) it's not entirely important with newer catalytic converters, as it's just there to protect it from excess temperature, but I was just trying to work through the emissions manual, and there it is. So where is it? It looks like it should show up somewhere around the center console, but I suppose it plugs into something under the hood.

I don't think it does either. Mine doesn't.

There is a sensor. I think the FSM calls it an OC temperature sensor. The connection is on the driver's side of the center console under the carpet and it is installed on the rear side of the catalytic converter.

Here's a thread:

Thanks! Yeah, I know it's not really an oxygen sensor, but that's what a lot of people seem to call it. I'll look harder under the console, maybe I'll pull it out. I had looked before since it seemed that was where it was supposed to be.

If yo look underneath at the back of the cat, you should be able to follow it to where the wire goes through the floor (assuming it's still there in stock configuration).

It is a temp sensor to let the emissions computer when it can run and check the air pump and purge system . There is no HO2s in a 60 that will effect the carb mixture.
Testing it is in the FSM , but you need to have long road test on the hwy.
Don't break it.
