where is my backup light switch??? (1 Viewer)

1987 22RE Auto, I've crawled underneath and looked for this little guy and can't see where it is! I bought a switch from toyota a few years ago and it looks identical to the one in my FJ-40... I wonder if they ordered one for the Fj-40 instead of my 4runner. It's happened before.

Are these pretty much an unchanged toyota part? If it's on top of the tranny is there any easy way of replacing it???

I think it's part of the big selector switch on the side of the tranny, also contains the neutral start safety switch.

Hummm. sounds like I've got the wrong part huh? I'll need to check a manual. I've got one for a 1991, is that the same automatic as in my 87???
