Step one: Build yourself a bumper.

Step two: Mount your lights on your bumper.

Step three: Bump stuff.

Step four: Replace your Lights.

it never ends.

For the longst time I had mine mounte on the windshield frame. The only problem what that with where they were I couldnt put my windshild down. But I never broke one and I could reach up while driving and adjust them as I needed.

why didnt you mount them on the windshield?

First off the lights that I ordered were big and I did not want it to look like Mickey Mouse ;)

Second was I did not want to drill holes in the windshield frame :(

and last was with the top off the windshield frame has a lot of movement and with the added wight of lights it would only be worse

They will get caught on things, when you take your truck off road.

They look silly there, and you get a really nice glare from the hood.

Hella lights??

Go IPF.

Good luck!

ya both my hella have broken in some way but some how they still hold up and work so they work for me!

how about some budget pro-comp options?

Bumper lights are clear spots w/70 Yellow bulbs for dealing w/local fog.
Windshield lights are 100W White floods that really light up the trail.

May have to change lower mounts after 8274 install...

Depends on the lights where I would mount them. Fogs or floods wide and low on the bumper (not hanging down), drivers mid heigth. Long range, mid heigth up to the roof. I actually had Long Range KC lights up on my roof rack but moved them down because of low pinion tree branches. They arent too effective on the bumper so I may change the lenses to make them floods.
