i'm trying to get my a/c hooked up in converted fj62 and my 1hz is missing the a/c tensioner bracket/pulley. i doesn't look like there's one from another engine that will swap over, so how do i go about finding one? i've sent an email to g&s, so maybe they can get me one, but if not where do i look? nothing on ebay.com.au and other classifieds are turning up nothing. any suggestions?

Try some aussie wreckers if GS cant help. I think I paid $20 for one, cant remember if it had the tensioner.
The tensioner is about $50AUD from the dealer.

i've emailed a few places, but do you have the name of a good one i could try?

I could probably get you one here and send it to ya.

I'm also coming up in a few weeks and would be willing to mule it to the US, then send it UPS.

What's the part #?? I'll see if it's available.

Rick

don't know the part number, but will try to find it, thanks for the offer.

Which bits do you need? The ones in the red square also?

Cool! I'm not sure what that means, but if it means you think you can help me i really appreciate.

well, i've struck out at the wrecking yards and g&s, so japan4x4, if you can get one for me i sure would appreciate it.

You should send him a PM.
They are asking about $60 AUD here. A lot of the mining trucks are sold with non functioning air con and the car yards are scavenging the parts needed.

Get me a VIN or Chassis number, or a description of the year make and model.

I have a picture of the tensioner. It's a sliding bearing guided upwards on a small bracket. I count 9 pieces total, including the mounting bolts. I have all the part numbers, but I need verification.

I can check availability as soon as you get back to me.

thanks, rick. i'm not sure offhand the year, but i believe it came out of a 1990 year model and it is a 1hz. i should be able to give you some more specific info in the morning.

Mate if you not had any luck and are chasing one from Aus
you could try Diamond auto's (hes a landcruiser specialit for parts) in (wangara) Perth ,Western Australia
thats were me and all my mates go for our second hand parts cheap as. He sells a few cars but is always wrecking diesel cruisers, seems to have more parts than a toyota dealer lol

Not sure if its a one of or not ,but mates 90 1hz 80 series aircond pump and hoses look different to my dads 92 hzj75 hz a/c pump n hoses, the 80 series one looking like the pumps and hoses simular to the 60 series old style look maybe they changed in 91 or something just make sure the brakets pulley etc are the same or suit your year motor, if its a factory difference mate

Mine looks just like the one that rosco posted a pic of, so according to his sig is a 95 model.
And thanks for the junkyard reference. You wouldn't happen to have a link, would you? I can't seem to find it.

Dude, according to Toyota Parts DIY, the part numbers are the same from a 1990 HZJ75 to a 1995 HZJ75, so I think you are good to go.

There are three part numbers:

1) Bracket, Idle Pulley (cast piece behind pulley) 88444-60100
2) Bolt, Idle Pulley (adjuster bolt) 88446-60030
3) Pulley, compressor cooler Idle (pulley, bolt, washers, nut) 88440-60040

There are a pair of standard item bolts you can source locally.

I'll fax the local dealer on Monday and get you the Costa Rica prices. If they have them in stock and the prices don't scare you off, I'll buy them and bring them with me on my trip to Socal in a few weeks, then send them to you via UPS.

That work for ya?

Rick
