Where are you storing jumper cables?

These lithium jump starters are worth their weight in gold - when charged and the need arises.

In regards to storing them at high states of charge, I wouldn't worry about charging them to 100%. Understand that it has its own internal BMS that manages the real SOC. As these are emergency devices where the value is in them actually having a good charge and capacity when the need arises, I store them topped off. Before every big trip, I pull it out of the car and charge just to be sure. It never really seems to have lost more than a few percent charge even after 6 months. Whether capacity is actually impacted, can't say.

For as cheap as they are these days, I'm not looking for lifetime utility.

Exactly why I am thinking to put the charging power port on a timer, it doesn't need to be 100% SoC, it just needs to be charged enough to work. Same for the other batteries although a 100% SoC is a bit more desirable in them due to how they get used. I have kilt dead a starting battery with an always-on power port that had a Streamlight NiCD flashlight plugged in and forgotten. That would also be on the timed power.
