Hi, Happy New Year, when pulling out of a parking lot (slow speed) when the hubs are locked, there is a rubbing noise or sounds like a ratchet when turning. It almost sounds like lugs are rubbing on the leaf springs but they are not.
trouble shooting
transfer case not engaged 4wd
wheel bearings serviced and retorqued
driveshafts are in phase u-joints great shape
have spotter and tire lugs not touching springs
Does the clunk diminish when the turning radius isn't as tight? If so, my money would be on worn birfs and I wouldn't worry about it. Pull them and lube if you want but the click will probably come back. My 60 has done this for years...I look at it as a reminder to not get on the skinny pedal when turning this tight.
Did you buy that from Marko recently? Very nice rig.

No got it from Jesse, I got it while it was intransit from Japan. I watched the whole process, it was repainted, everything redone even though the Japanese owner had it serviced regularly so it was a very good base. I went to ATEB where Outback has their vehicles serviced, including mine and the noise was not the birfields, cause they are in awesome shape. I am going to fire my spotter LOL, it is the tires rubbing on the spring at full lock, no big deal.
I am very pleased with Outback.
