Has anyone ran 16x8 -20 offset rim before on their FJ40? I just want to make sure it clears the front calipers before I process my order on a set of wheels I have my eyes set on.

It don’t depend of the offset, it’s about the center shape. Tie rod end joint clearance is what you need to concern, it should be good with that size/offset.
