That is what I thought. Late model outside panel, early door inside panel. Custom box panel with late model door release on interior of early door. Crazy! You have to try really hard to screw something up that bad.
Easier to fix it correctly. I couldn’t figure out why
They probably wanted no draft windows on a newer style door. So much effort to do so when the parts are available to do so bolt on.

Could have at least added electric windows and some Bose speakers....lol.
I kind of like them, have a arm rest also...
There was a movie made in New Zealand with George Peppard, Race for the Yankee Zephyr, that had 3 fj40s in it with late doors with wing windows like that. I don't think the inside was like that though.

Wing window never went away in the Land Cruisers. Still waiting on this set in Australia. Wanted a 10/81+ set with vent window. Most markets 10/81+ had a dome light that worked off the front doors. Have the dome light and A pillar switches. Doors were cheap enough even with shipping will be a good deal.
