Today this just sold at Barrett Jackson. Considering what is being asked online I thought this would be a good
indicator. 1983 FJ60 from Texas. Maybe someone recognizes the plate? Final price $19,500. Impressive truck.

I'd say 19K was probably about right...maybe even a little high but these things are riding a popularity wave right now. Resprayed paint, clean chassis but not a pristine showroom queen.

Its been desmogged and looks like maybe a weber conversion.

Looks like it has coolant and oil leaks too.

LOL! I knew I could trust you all to sort this out. The impression we all get is Barret-Jackson
is the pristine best of the best. But reality says, it’s just a used car auction. I’d say $19.5K
was way too much for the condition according to MUD. Thanks for the update.
Yup,, riding the wave!

I've been to Barrett Jackson and it is a show, Barnum & Baily of auto auctions. There truly are some incredibly built vehicles but they are not all a ten out of ten. We saw plenty of sixes and sevens out under the tents that looked like tens up there on the block. My wife says she wants the people that do the stage lighting to do her make up table lighting so she'll look like she is 18 again. Add to it the team of McGuire's folks at the bottom of the ramp shining every vehicle up before they go on stage.

It is certainly more than just a used car auction but not every vehicle is "killer". The owners also run the risk of the vehicle not bringing what they had hoped for as BJ is a no reserve auction. It is still a buyer beware situation. If you do not do your homework and inspect the vehicles before it hits the block it is on you. If you get the chance, go to the show, it is a blast and there sure are a lot of stunning vehicles.
