it wouldn't make it off the dock and you would have a choice of either destroying it or shipping it back out of the country, of course if someone in Japan was to fudge the paperwork then you might get it in but if a customs boy caught the scam you would be black listed and EVERY unit you tried to bring in or any item you landed would be checked, those boys have no sense of HEE HAW.
when i first was bring in cruisers 4 or 5 years ago i had a set of used tires in the back of a unit. a greenie customs boy decided that was contraban so he siezed the truck and wouldn't release it. i never got notified by my dick head broker, i got informed by Sue of the problem, i called my broker who did know there was a problem but didn't bother to check what the problem was. i told him to get on it and called Sue back. she gave me the customs officers name and number so i contacted him. it seemed that used tires from Japan ARE contraban.
"how do i correct the situation?"
"fly down here and get rid of the tires"
"is it just the tires or tires and rims that need to be dispossed of?"
"just the tires, the rims are no tlisted"
"can i get the tires slashed?"
"yep, that would work"
i phoned Sue back and asked her if she would be nice enough to go slash my SPARE set of tires.
"sure, that might be fun!!"
"go for it"
"no can do with out official orders from the customs dude"
damn, i call the punk ass back and get him to call Sue and give her to okay. she calls me back in about 15 minutes and tells me she has not had such fun in quite a while. i phone my broker back and ask him what the seizuer was all about. he responded with "i have not had time to find out". i told him not to worry about it, that i had taken care of it and fired him.
every truck brought in from then till Luxury was formed was inspected.
my advice, play by the rules and if something comes in that isn't suppose to be there, be polite and kiss the customs people asses. they are GOD till the unit is cleared.
stay away from that car.
cheers
