What Windshield Hinges Do We Need (1 Viewer)

Just acquired a 40 and it had brackets installed on the windshield instead of hinges. I’d like to revert back to the hinges. The title says it’s a 74 but I’m not sure if it’s late or early in the year and which hinges I need. See pic of existing bracket.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

There should be a tag on the drivers a pillar that lists DOM. If not, you can check the VIN on SORs chart.

Your wiper are on the top of the frame ,so you need the early hinges 74 and older.
When the wiper are on the bottom , the hinges pin is offset to clear the motor cover on latter model

unless you are going to actually lower the windshield, they aren't needed, other than looks.

any older hinge should be rebuilt, even with the hardtop off and a guy running a bikini top, his hinge pin broke at highway speed and whacked him in the face. there was a thread on here with the write up several years ago, IIRCC it was VA, MD area, he was returning from a weekend trail ride.

you can post up in the classifieds looking for hinges,
