What the secret to reinstalling a rear view mirror on a 1970 FJ40?

It snaps in hard if you have the OEM windshield mirror on a 1970 FJ40. May be helpful to remove the driver's slave wiper to get some clearance with the cable. Done very few times but never had to get the wiper motor cable out of the way.
