Should be re-named SUPER FOO! Seriously did you do that damage just so you'd have motivation to start chopping, too coincidental for me to believe otherwise!

Thanks for the compliment. I certainly wasn't worried when I had the damage, as this was coming up quickly in the list to do. Here are pics that show the overkill structure I put in, before I welded the lower quarter inch plate on

Here is the first side welded up.

The top edge is stainless, most of it is solid up to the bend. That came out of a scrap bin that I found at metal shop. Timing is everything!! Up to that point I had no idea how to finish the top edge.

Got my old Hobart welder setup with stainless wire feed wire, speeding up things. Much faster than tig welding it all.

Since it isn't show no use in burning up hours with a TIG to make it pretty. Looks stout as hell too.

Well it was a very late night that became a really early morning but got them all finished and painted. My son came out to help take off the tape and take a look.

Holy wing gussets! Those things are stout, what is that 1/4" plate as well?

Proud dad badge is being worn today, we went wheeling and I didn't have much time on the wheel, as my son drove most the time.

I smiled ear to ear when he told me he wants a 80 series Ute as his first car. I smell project!!!!

It was also pretty cool to wheel next to the inspiration for Foos paint job.

How can I keep up my reputation of the overkill king with anything less?

He wheeled like a pro!! Give him another high five for me! I typically really like following you through the trails and lines, but it was just as fun following him!

Then went out and played in the snow.

On a trip south of the border we found Foo's Mexican cousin.

We named him FOO'D

Foo'd. That's what Foo eats. Kinda like salad is what food eats

I dig the orange accent on the wheels of FOO'D and may incorporate that into FOO someday.

Well, I pulled it out of the barn last night, I was putting some lizard skin insulation on my other rig and this one needed some touch up. the floor under the passenger seat had peeled off some of the raptor topcoat. Al's liner did not have good instructions, and I think I put the raptor on too quickly. Also, I'm not very impressed with the Als, so wanted to see if I could tell a noticeable difference with the lizard skin. Anyway, I added a coat of lizard skin onto the passenger side.

Soft bikini top was too short and had a cut in it, so I borrowed @tornadoalleycruiser industrial sewing machine from World War II and we adapted the soft top, by adding about 12" to the middle and changing the entire rear section. Also added Velcro straps to keep in in place. Many thanks go out to my Mother who happened to be in town visiting, so she was drafted into action. Quite fitting as she taught me to sew many years ago....
